| In recent
years flexible face signs have become popular
especially for large cabinet signs. The
material doesn't have to be spliced unlike
flat acrylic or vacuum formed Lexan in cabinets
larger than 5' X 12'. Flex face material
quality has also improved dramatically over
the last decade making it more appropriate
for permanent sign use. The price is also
comparable per square foot with that of
vacuum formed Lexan signs. The same material
used in flex face signs can also be conformed
to illuminated awnings.
Flex face sign material
is a durable poly-cotton canvas with some
similarities to banner material. Flex faces
are stretched to conform to sign cabinets
or metal frames for building mounted awnings.
The face material can either be white or
come in a variety of eradicable colors.
Flex faces are typically stencil masked
with graphics areas masked and "eradicated"
to reveal the white surface. We use a special
solvent to remove the color, either to reveal
white lettering or a background to use later
in applying vinyl graphics of other colors.
Flex faces can be decorated with heat transfer
graphics, a more expensive option good for
use in volume orders.
