| These
types of signs are popular for their economy
and quick turnaround time. Faces can be
easily swapped or even redecorated. Flat
face signs are popular for building sign
cabinets, multi-cabinet pylon signs and
smaller secondary signage. Most any sign
company will offer this kind of product,
but few can match the talent of Arrow Sign
Company in making these kinds of signs look
good and function properly.
Many different looks can
be achieved with flat faces. They can be
incorporated into architectural type signs
and informational sign systems. Graphics
design on the face can be colorfully aggressive
or tastefully restrained. The biggest cost
savings is gained by using a white face
and single translucent vinyl color for lettering.
There is one drawback to this economical
approach. A white face can overpower its
lettering when illuminated. Regular or thin
weight lettering can easily disappear when
viewed at a distance.
Flat plastic face signs
have some design limitations. Cabinets must
have adequate depth to prevent internal
lighting "hotspots" behind the
face when viewed at night. This is a critical
issue to consider when using a flat face
to replace an old or damaged vacuum formed
face. Sizes for flat faces are best limited
to 4' X 8' and under. Some larger sizes
can be accomodated, but splicing methods
may be necessary. |
